The
Spins' new CD will be produced
by Thomas Lang.
“If The Rock is the undisputed champion of wrestling, Thomas Lang is the king of clinic” (Modern Drummer).These two lines appeared in the last September issue of Modern Drummer are enough to define who Thomas Lang is.The author of Creative Control - possibly one of the most meticolous instructional videos ever - who performed with superstars like Robbie Williams, Ozzy Osbourne and Asia (just to name a few) agreed to produce The Spins new CD.The recording sessions will begin next January.It’s obvious that from the meeting of “the drummer who went where no drummer has gone before” and “the queen of double pedal” you can expect only the unexpected!

The
Spins' UK tour is ended.
Judging
from the people who attended
our gigs we can say that
our first UK tour went well.
Many faults in Native Recordings
promotion (thus we ceased to
work with them) caused some
avoidable trouble, but
the expert work of our tour
manager James
Jackman
of
TM
Music Publishing
suceeded
in mending nearly everything.
In any case, as we've been contacted
by one of the rising stars of
the UK music industry and most
probably we'll be touring UK
again next summer, we can say
that this tour led us to very
promising developments.
And
then
we were three...
Frequently
you cannot judge the interior
of a house from its facade.
Said in a less obvious manner,
to make 4.000 kilometers in
a van crowded by 5 persons,
their luggage and music instruments
is a very good way to know the
interior of anyone. So, as it's
clear that a rock band is a
delicate chemistry and two of
us proved not to be apt (for
many reasons that it's not relevant
to discuss) to accept The Spins
project as Alessia and I intended
to be when we created it, only
three of us will keep up the
work from now on. Having to
concentrate on new recordings,
we'll choose carefully for session
men and women to play what
we can't do ourselves, but probably
it's not so near the moment
in which we'll offer to anyone
else to join The Spins. Technical
skill is a relevant quality
to play with us, but actually
not the principal. Marcello.
